What to pack for Canada: the season-by-season guide
The climate brief our curators use to build a Canada arrival kit.
Canada rewards preparation over improvisation. The climate data below comes straight from our relocation desk — it is the same brief we send curators before they build each arrival kit.
Spring — 2–14°C: Slow thaw; the puffer stays out until May.
Summer — 18–27°C: Short and lovely — denim and tees finally surface.
Winter — -15–-2°C: Real cold. Insulation is the entire strategy.
Indoor life is warm and social, so the trick is arriving prepared to shed layers the second you step inside. Everything packs flat, everything dries fast, and the boots are already broken in.
Best time to arrive: Sept–Oct for golden falls, Dec–Mar for snow.. Whatever season you land in, the kit logic stays the same: a strong outer layer for the weather, a mid-layer you can shed indoors, and footwear built for the streets you will actually walk.
